Hello everyone,

I bought a c901 a few month ago. Since I bouht a 16gb M2 memory card, my phone has been giving me ''playback failed" error message.
No matter which firmware I am using (R1GA028 or 026) I always get this message after a few days. If I turn off/on the phone it works fine till 1-2 days.
I used the memory card in my c902 without any problem. Can someone suggest me something? Thnxx in advance!

Welcome to our forums Hmm if you tried on brand new firmware and there's the same problem then I can suggest trying to format the card in C901 and then check it out.

Thank you for your advice. I already did it with the pc, or if I am doing with the phone, then it different?
If I am using the memory card in my c902, than it works great.
But when I insert into the c901, then the problem appear. The strange part is the phone open the picture from the memory card, but not the video/music. Even if I remove the card cannot open video/music which is preinstalled in the phone.

ok, this is strange. also after flashing new firmware?

I know some early (made in 2008) c905 did strange things but I do not know if it is the same with c901. My phone produced in 2009 wk18, so maybe that is the problem? I read on esato forum that other models also had these problem or bug. But it seems just a few phone. Maybe I am one of these "lucky" persons...

I already tried to use firmware from topsony, from here and sony.yt
But the problem appear

I told you cause now I recollect that once I tried it also in W760 and it worked Glad it's fine! Closed.

I just have 8gb card. So I am going to test with that card. If the problem appear, should I replace the card reader?

Yeah, check it out but I guess it's not the problem with card reader.

You should always format your memory card on the device you want to use it with, not on your computer or laptop. In theory there should be no difference, but I found many times that there is. Some devices don't work properly if you put in them a memory card formatted on your PC. I remember having that issue on one of my photo cameras made by Canon, and also a little sport camera / car dvr by GoClever.

I just deleted UC browser and restarted the cellphone every 2-3 days. And it seems it works.
