I can only access gmail by going into Opera Mini on my feature phone.
If I try and access gmail via the phone's built-in browser or the phone's messaging menu, I get the following errors:
1. Communication failure. Secure connection failed (gmail login via google website)
2. Server message: an error occurred using tls/ssl. contact your email provider if the problem persists. (phone's messaging menu)
I have already tried to carry out a repair via Sony PC Companion. It gives me an error message that Sony Update Engine does not have software available for my device. I contacted Sony Support who claim my device may not be supported any longer. I'm pretty sure this repair would fix the problem having read threads elsewhere on the Internet but it does not seem to work for the W995.

Server message: an error occurred using tls/ssl.

Hi,
I have the exact same problem, but with a Sony Ericsson C902, Firmware: R3EJ001
Is there anything I can do? I already tried the Gmail Java App, but it doesn't work because certificates are missing.
Thank You!

You can download Opera mini or Opera mini mod and use it. It's because security certificates are outdated. There should be a way to extend them I guess.
